Daniel Lee Jerman, 97, died March 21, 2020. At the time of his death, he was a resident of Heath Village in Hackettstown, N.J.
Born in Sewickley, Pa., Mr. Jerman served in the Navy during WWII and graduated from Lehigh University with a degree in Civil Engineering in 1948. He worked for, and provided consulting services to, railroads in the U.S. and abroad. In retirement he worked to restore a portion of an historic canal, enjoyed sailing, reading, woodworking and gardening.
Mr. Jerman is survived by children, Patricia (Mark Tompkins) of Columbia, S.C., Robert of Chalfont, Pa., and Douglas (Dorianne) of Long Valley, N.J., as well grandchildren, Daniel Tompkins, Alice, John, Lydia and Elias Jerman. He was predeceased by parents, Daniel Thomas and Claire Edlund Jerman, his wife of 59 years, Jean Bonnar MacEachern Jerman, and brother Thomas B. Jerman.
