Dr. William Howard, PhD, passed away on March 17, 2020, after a long illness. He was 72 years old.
William was born in Lisbon, Ohio, to George and Mary Howard. He earned his BA and MA in Experimental Psychology from Cleveland State University, post-doctoral degree in Epidemiology from Northwestern University, PhD in Experimental Psychology and Statistics from the University of New Mexico and his MBA from Frederick Taylor University.
He spent the better part of his 40-year career in the development of pharmaceutical products. His tenure included posts at Miles Laboratory, Warner Lambert, Parke Davis, Adams Respiratory and, most recently, the company that he founded, Alitair Pharmaceuticals. While at Adams, he played an integral role in the Mucinex® cough/cold product line. Known as the 'Idea Man' among his friends and colleagues, William was always thinking of solutions to problems. He secured five US patents and was the author of five books.
He loved to travel and visited 20 countries. William was an avid ballroom dancer, enjoyed working out at the YMCA and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his daughter, Michelle Snell, and siblings, Charles Howard, Gary Howard and Shirleen Howard.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Mary, and siblings, George Howard, Betty Ann Turner, Kenneth Howard and Patsy Ramsey.
Due to the recent concerns of group gatherings, there will not be a memorial service but a celebration of life will take place in the upcoming months. Memorial donations can be made to the .
