Carol Ann Lay (nee Judge), 75, of Cedar Grove, N.J., passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2020.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 11, 2020, from 4 to 8 p.m., with a prayer service to begin at 7 p.m., at Shook's Cedar Grove Funeral Home, 486 Pompton Ave., Cedar Grove. Memories and condolences may be shared at shookscedargrove.com
Carol was born in East Orange, N.J., and spent all but three years of her 75-year life in Cedar Grove. She was a loving mother and an adoring grandmother.
She served as a Cedar Grove crossing guard for 40 years. She loved playing cards and games with her girlfriends and also playing the N.J. Lottery and assorted scratches. She loved the shore and an occasional trip to the casinos.
She leaves behind her beloved husband of 54 years, Robert; three sons and their spouses, Robert and Cheryl, Kevin and Diana, Richard and Christine; eight beautiful grandchildren, Nicholle, Danielle, Samantha, Emily, Matthew, Daniel, Erin, and Lauren; sister-in-law, Ellen Heintjes; her brother, John, and sister-in-law, Carol Ann; a niece, nephews and grand-nephew, plus many dear friends. She will be sorely missed.
