Beloved wife and mother, avid mystery novel reader
Ansuya Nigam of Watchung, N.J., passed away at Overlook Medical Center on Jan. 23, 2020, at the age of 78.
She was born in Varanasi, India, to the late K. Prasad Verma and Mangla Verma. Ansuya earned a Master of Science degree in India and taught chemistry at Mahila college. After getting married in 1971, she moved to the United States. Ansuya was a beloved wife and mother, a devout Hindu, an avid mystery novel reader and a fixture at the local libraries.
She is survived by Avinash, her devoted husband of nearly 50 years; her two loving son,s Anurag and Anupam; their spouses, Diane and Shireen; two cherished grandchildren, Graham and Jackson, and her large extended family.
Visitation is 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, 2020, at Punarjanm Funeral Services, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, N.J. 07069, followed by a 10 a.m. funeral service at the funeral home. Cremation will follow at Somerset Hills Memorial Park, Basking Ridge, N.J.
