Master seamstress, cherished time spent with her family
Annette Lopreiato (nee Giorgio), 90, of Roseland, N.J., passed away on Dec. 18, 2019.
Relatives and friends are invited for visitation on Thursday from 4 through 8 p.m. at Shook-Farmer Funeral Home, 45 Roseland Ave., Roseland, N.J. 07068, shookfarmer.com. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Friday at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church, Roseland, N.J., with interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, N.J.
Born and raised in Newark, N.J., to the late Rocco and Evelina (nee Massa) Giorgio, she settled in Roseland in 1997. Annette was a master seamstress and worked for Best & Company in Newark and various other small garment businesses throughout her career. She was a longtime member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union. She crafted christening gowns, wedding gowns, and many special pieces that have been passed down to new generations. Above all, she cherished the time spent with her loving family.
She was predeceased by her parents, her beloved husband of 63 years, Ralph Lopreiato, and siblings, Louise DiSi and Joseph Giorgio.
She is survived by her beloved children, Joseph O. Lopreiato M.D. (Cynthia) and Tina-Maria Altiero, R.Ph. (Roger); grandchildren, Joseph O. Lopreiato, Jr., M.D. (Jessica Costantino), Nicholas P. Lopreiato M.D., Mark Altiero, and Samantha Altiero; great-grandchildren, Domenica Vittoria Lopreiato and Vincenzo Raffaele Lopreiato, and dear sister, Mary Scaglione (Emilio).
