HOPKINS, Bobbie Anne Trott Bobbie Anne Trott Hopkins left this earth just the way she lived with grace, gentleness and peace. The Lord mercifully released her from the constraints of her body on December 10, 2019, after a seven-year battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Because of her professed love for Jesus Christ and her personal relationship with Him, we know with certainty that her mind and memories have been restored in Heaven with her life-long love, Alton Fowler Hopkins, Jr., to whom she was married for 64 years. Born on August 27, 1931 to Robert Louis and Frankie Lee Trott, Bobbie attended Lamar High School in Houston, then graduated from Southern Methodist University and married Alton in 1953, settling in Dallas. Bobbie was fortunate to be a stay-at-home mom to three children, Jan Hopkins Hankinson, Robert Lawrence Hopkins and Susan Hopkins Atchison. Bobbie had a full life of friendships and activities, mostly centered on her involvement in Ridgewood Park Methodist Church and later, University Park United Methodist Church. She was exceedingly content in life and took joy in supporting her family, always taking an active interest in their needs and concerns. As the disease slowly took its toll, Bobbie was surrounded at home by the uncommon love and attention of her primary caregiver, Paulina Chapman, who became a valued member of the Hopkins family, doting daily on her and truly embracing her with Christ's love until her last breath. Also lovingly tending to Bobbie were Sally Cabuco, Jacky Chapman and Karen Cabuco, for whom the family will forever be grateful. We prayed for one fabulous caregiver, and God dropped four women into our lives who ministered to Mom, as well as to us, for many hard years. Bobbie, or "Grammy," was also an extraordinary grandmother to Jenny Hankinson Smiley, husband Taylor and children Clara and Paul; Garland Hopkins Sepulveda, husband Matthew and daughter Mary Charlotte; Katie Hankinson Schell and husband Eric; Lawson Hopkins and wife Rachel; Caroline Atchison; Evann Hopkins and Kyle Atchison, all of whom will fondly remember her famous pink pancakes and orange Danish rolls consumed at sleepovers in her home. A service to remember the life of Bobbie Hopkins will be held on Friday, December 20, 2019 at 1:30pm at University Park United Methodist Church, Caldwell Room.
