GARDNER, Anna Boggs 12/13/1940 - 11/26/2019 Anna Lang Boggs passed away peacefully in Dallas, TX on November 26, 2019 at the age of 79. Anna is survived by two sons, Christopher and Greg; by her sister and brother-in-law, Dr. & Mrs. Robert and Elizabeth Hall; and by four grandchildren, Oliver Niilo Matthias Gardner, Lukas Onni Andreas Gardner, Landrey Mae Meyers, and Bo Greyson Gardner. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ted (Elwyn) Gardner from Needham, MA. Anna was born in Wichita, KS on December 13, 1940, but spent much of her youth in Caracas, Venezuela, where her father served as an engineer and foreman for Gulf Oil. Mr. Boggs was promoted to a vice-presidency and moved the family back to the states. Anna and her sister, grew up in Wichita, Pittsburgh, and Houston, depending on their father's work. Anna began to study nursing at the Duke University in 1959, but she transferred to Southern Methodist University soon after. While studying at SMU, she met her future husband, Ted Gardner. She graduated with her degree in1962 and they married in 1964. Ann raised two sons, Christopher Kenrick Gardner and Gregory Duane Gardner, both of whom later graduated from SMU as well. Anna played tennis much of her young life, and she re-kindled her interest as a fan after her retirement. She followed professional circuits closely, and loved to talk about her favorite players or the most recent tournaments. She enjoyed a number of opportunities to travel as well. She joined her sister and brother-in-law on a couple of cross-country road trips in what they lovingly called "The Doll House." She also travelled both to Europe and throughout the states with her sons and grandchildren as her health permitted. Her children remember her as the consument volunteer, manager, and fan in anything and everything they attempted. She was always there to help them pursue their goals. A celebration of her life is scheduled for Friday, December 6th at 1:00pm at Munger Place Church, officiated by Reverend Andrew Forrest. Carey and Greg Gardner will then host all family and friends at their home afterwards.
