Brian Hirth, 69, of Garwood, N.J., joined many of his loved ones in Heaven on Thursday, Oct. 31, 2019.
The funeral is from the Mastapeter Funeral Homes, 400 Faitoute Ave., Roselle Park, N.J.,, on Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2019, at 9:15 a.m. A Funeral Mass will follow to St. Theresa R. C. Church in Kenilworth, N.J., at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be at Graceland Memorial Park in Kenilworth, N.J. Visitation will be Sunday, Nov. 17, 2019, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday, Nov. 18, 2019, 7 to 9 p.m., at the funeral home. Born in Newark, N.J., Brian grew up in Kenilworth, and moved to Garwood in 1987.
He was the owner and operator of B. Hirth Paving since 1976.
Brian was a 1968 graduate of David Brearley High School in Kenilworth and in 1967 he was State Group 1 Champions for football.
He had many golf outings with friends and hosted many Super Bowl parties.
He served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War from 1969 to 1970. He entered on Sept. 4, 1968, and was honorably discharged Sept. 4, 1974, as corporal. Brian was in the M. A. G. 13, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing Chu La in Vietnam, receiving the Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 44 years, Diane (nee: DiFrancesco) Hirt; two loving sons, Brian and Jason and his fiancee, Alisha; dear brother, Robert Hirth; dear sister, June Stork and her husband, Albert, also surviving are many family and friends.
