SCHRODER, JR., Alan Arthur Alan Arthur Schroder, Jr., better known by those who loved him as "JR" or "Junior", passed away October 26, 2019. JR, was a beloved father, devoted son and close friend to many people who loved him dearly. JR lived life to the fullest, with passion and a desire to experience everything life had to offer. In his 48 years with us, JR lived a full life doing the things he loved. His first love was his son, Trey, who JR introduced to his love of music, movies, the outdoors and adventure travel. JR was so proud of his son and the man he had become. Friends would describe JR as fun, funny, uncompromising, a loyal friend, a hard worker, a little stubborn, smart, feisty and a lover of good food. He was quick to use his infectious smile to greet old friends or make new ones. JR had a quick wit and loved to laugh. He was passionate about exploring nature, pushing himself to the limit and sharing his experiences with those he loved. There will never be another quite like him. JR grew up in Dallas, went to college in Austin and the University of Arkansas. After graduation he moved to California to be near his parents before returning to Dallas to raise his family with Abby. In 2016 he and Trey moved from Dallas to Colorado to be near the mountains he loved so much. A true outdoorsman, JR was a passionate skier, camper, rafter, hiker and environmentalist. JR recently completed a bucket list rafting trip through the Grand Canyon and was planning a rafting trip with his friends to Chile for his 50th birthday. JR loved to travel, to see friends, family or his favorite bands. He was never content to remain stagnant. As JR moved around the country he accumulated friends rather than material things. After working in many different industries, JR decided to follow his heart into the outdoor gear industry. Starting at the bottom, despite being immensely overqualified for a customer service job, he quickly rose to become the East Coast territory sales representative for Kelty Outdoor Equipment in Boulder. It was his dream job. JR was always there for his friends, many of whom consider him more a brother than a mere friend. JR is survived by his loving son Trey Schroder, his devoted parents Gale and Alan A. Schroder, Sr., his Grandmother, Irene Schroder, his Aunt Diane and Uncle Terry, many dear and loving cousins, and his former spouse Abby Schroder his "Baby-Mama" first wife, mother of his son and a lifelong friend.
