Albert William Reinhart Jr.
Devoted husband, father, and Poppy will be deeply missed
On Oct. 17, 2019, Albert William Reinhart Jr. was called home to our Lord.
Bert was born in Elizabeth, N.J., on Feb. 18, 1930, to Albert W. Sr. and Helen Sullivan Reinhart. He received a B.S. from Seton Hall University in 1951. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War, and afterward worked as an insurance underwriter.
Bert was married for 61 years to Joan C. Mays, the love of his life. They resided together in Rahway, N.J., and shared a passion for travel.
Bert loved history; for 25 years he was a proud member of the Royal Welch Fusiliers in America, a Revolutionary War reenactment group. He was a polymath and a lifelong reader. He was wonderful man, husband, father, and Poppy, and his family aches with the loss of him.
Bert is survived by his wife, Joan, and his children: Joanne Reinhart of Rahway; Brian and Sandi Reinhart of Maryland; Mary Beth and Vincent La Stella of Clark, N.J.; and Thomas Reinhart and Alicia Julian, his wife, of Maryland. He was blessed with loving grandchildren: Megan La Stella, Vincent La Stella, Margareta Reinhart, Michael La Stella and Brigid Reinhart.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the visitation at the Walter Johnson Funeral Home, 803 Raritan Rd. Clark, on Sunday, Oct. 20, from 2 to 6 p.m. The funeral begins at the funeral home on Monday at 10 a.m., thence to St. Agnes Church, Clark, where a Funeral Mass will be offered at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia, N.J.
