Alan E. Timchak Sr., "Timmy", passed away Monday, Sept. 30, 2019, at his home in Nutley, N.J.
Born June 4, 1940, to the late Louis and Agnes (Chismar) Timchak, he graduated Passaic High School in 1958 and proudly served in the United States Navy from 1959 to 1962.
After his honorable discharge from the Navy, he met the love of his life, the late Cora P. (Ritacco) Timchak, and they would marry on June 7, 1964. They spent the next 42 years side by side, dedicated to each other and their family. Their happiest moments were spent gathered around the table, sharing a meal, and reminiscing about the good times.
Quick to make friends and always willing to lend a helping hand, Alan was a favorite playmate to his nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. Those who knew him will fondly remember his sense of humor, his big appetite, and the pride he took in his family.
Alan is survived by his children, Alan E. Timchak Jr. and his wife, Tracey, Louis M. Timchak and his wife, Heather, and Laura Lorenz and her husband, Peter; two brothers-in-law, Pat Ritacco and his wife, Linda, and Michael Ritacco, and seven loving grandchildren: Peter, Sydney, Natalie, Alexandria, Jake, A.J., and Justin. Along with his wife, Alan was predeceased by his brother, Louis Timchak.
The funeral will be on Monday, Oct. 7, 2019, at 9 a.m., from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, (www.swbrownandson.com), 267 Centre St., Nutley. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10 a.m. The interment will follow at Glendale Cemetery in Bloomfield, N.J. Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Sunday from 2 to 6p.m.
