WOOD III, Arthur Cleveland "Tracy" Arthur Cleveland Wood III, known as "Tracy," Dad, and Pops, passed away surrounded by family on September 21, 2019 in Dallas, Texas due to complications from surgery. He was born October 4th, 1949 in Dallas, Texas. He is preceded in death by his mother Betty Cooke Wood "Cookie" and nephew Daniel Scott Gardner. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years Carol Wood, and their five sons: Asher and Missy Wood, children Gaia, Presley, and Marlon; Fulton and Brooke Wood, children Bergen and Winton; Nelson and Ali Wood, children Kennedy, Hamilton, and Tennyson; Taylor and Terra Wood, children Fox and Esmé; Leighton and Grace Anne, children Elliot and baby due in October. He's also survived by his father, Arthur Cleveland Wood, Jr; sister Kathy Marshall, husband Randy; sister Allison Cobb, husband Greg; and sister Linny Gardner, husband Scott. Tracy is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews that he loved being with (and scaring) at family reunions. Tracy is a Dallas native, graduating from Texas Military Institute and SMU/University of North Texas with a double major B. B. A. and a Certificate of Insurance in 1973. In April 1974, Tracy joined the New York Life as a 4th generation Agent, serving the insurance needs of families and businesses until he retired after 45 years. Over the years, he earned many industry accolades and was involved with many professional groups, including: Agents Advisory Council; board member of the Dallas Estate Planning Council; board member of Dallas Association of Life Underwriters, member of The Nautilus Group and Eagle Strategies; life member Million Dollar Round Table, life member NYLife councils. He was actively involved in a number of service and philanthropic organizations, including over 30 years of service to the Preston Center Rotary Club, 27 years on the YMCA Camp Grady Spruce Board, Voice of Hope Board, Dallas Theology Seminary President's Council, Bank Boards and others. He was a consummate Texan, enjoying hunting and the outdoors with family and friends, attending Cowboy Gatherings, and any other time riding around on ranches. Great delight came in organizing and directing a hunting lease for families to connect with the hunting experience, nature, and each other. He loved entertaining people in his home, being with the Buckaroos Bible Study, time with family, and reading. He has the advantage of a great personal Board of Advisors, many friends, 5 great sons, 11 grandchildren, and a wonderful and accomplished wife, Carol Wood. He will be remembered for his loyal friendships, his love of legacy, enthusiasm for epic stories, gathering of friends, and a great steak. Services will be held at 1pm on Thursday September 26th at Park Cities Presbyterian Church followed by a reception. Please utilize off-site parking at Turtle Creek Village.
