Arthur L. "Bud" Dumke Jr., 72, of Vermilion, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2019.
Born on Dec. 3, 1946, in Oberlin, Ohio, he was raised in Wellington, Ohio, and lived most of his life in Elizabeth, N.J.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War.
Bud was a member of Disabled American Veterans, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 2230, the American Veterans Post 22, and the Vietnam Veterans of America Group.
In his years residing in New Jersey, he was employed for 32 years at PSE&G in Newark, N.J., finally retiring from there in 2002.
Bud leaves behind his beloved wife of 48 years, Lorraine J. (nee Ryczaj) Dumke; his twin sister, Michelle Star, and his nephews, Scott Garn and Randy (Darlene) Garn. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Sr. and Estella (nee Grissinger) Dumke; a sister, Vicki Garn, and a nephew, Jeffrey Garn.
The family will receive friends Saturday, Aug. 17, from 11 a.m. until the time of his funeral service at 12 noon, at the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Rd., Amherst, Ohio. The Rev. Deacon Robert Dybo, Deacon of Nativity of the BVM Parish, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain, Ohio, where full military honors will be held by the Amherst Veterans Military Honor Guard.
