STAFF, Barbara Ruth 1924 - 2019 Barbara Ruth (Wright) Staff passed away July 29, 2019 in Plano, Texas. Barbara's full and exuberant life will be celebrated with a Memorial Service Tuesday, August 27, at 1:30 p.m., Saint Andrew United Methodist Church, Plano, Texas. Barbara was born August 26, 1924 to Hazel Rose Bishop and Robert Floyd Wright at home in Godley, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband William Staff and daughter Barbara Kimberly (David). She is survived by daughter Susan (Paul) Causey, three granddaughters; Suellen (Robert) Payne, Morgan Rose (Jacob) Waggoner, Mackenzie Kate Causey and one grandson, John David Kimberly (Gina). Her legacy includes twelve great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Barbara was widely known for her intellect and fun, passionate, and enthusiastic involvement in both local and national politics. She was instrumental in the campaigns of Congressman Jim Collins, Governor Bill Clements, Congressman Steve Bartlett, Commissioner Jim Jackson, and Mayoral Candidate Tom Dunning. Her most dedicated volunteer effort came in service as one of three State Chairmen for Ronald Reagan. In 1976, she led the Texas delegation at the Republican National Convention. Barbara additionally loved reading, history, sewing, fashion, Bridge, friends, debate and Bible Study. Her loves came together magnificently to create a vibrant, meaningful and fulfilled life. We, her fortunate family, celebrate her well-lived life and ask that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Saint Andrew United Methodist Church, Scott Engle's Teaching Ministry, 5801 Plano Parkway, Plano, Texas 75093.
