1939 - 2019
Midvale, Utah-Barbara Jean Drumiler Tongish Smith, passed away on February 12, 2019 at the age of 79, surrounded by her family. She will be greatly missed. Barb, or Bobbi as she liked to be called by friends, was born on October 15, 1939, to Elbert and Norma Drumiler, in Ogden, Utah. She grew up in Utah and then moved to Jerome, Idaho to finish high school. She met Gary Tongish before her sophomore year, they married in 1958, and later divorced. Through this union Bobbi and Gary had two sons, Dan and Andy. While living in Midvale, Barb lived across the street from Bobby Lee Smith. A friendship developed and they later married in 1995. Bobby and Bobbi had a wonderful 24 years together. Barbara is survived by her husband Bobby, her sons, Dan (Stacey) Tongish, Andy (Linda) Tongish, and step-daughter Suzan (Galen) Scott; grandchildren, Kelli Tongish, Cydni Tongish, Jaime (Cliff) Turner, Andrea (JD) McCleve, Troy (Jade) Tongish, Craig Tongish, and Shane Tongish; and great-grandchildren, Owen, Makenzie, Harper, Jordan, Camden, and many step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, and step-great-great-grandchildren.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, granddaughters; Wendi and Jenni Tongish, step-son Rick Scott, and dog, Peppy. Barb will be remembered by all who knew her for her kind spirit, loving heart and warm hugs. She leaves behind wonderful experiences, loving memories, and many people who loved her very much. A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 22 at 6:30 pm at the Midvale 5th Ward, 8171 South Jackson St, Midvale.
