Alice Cavazos

Faleceu

Alice Elizondo Cavazos
Dec. 27, 1925 - Feb. 13, 2019
Our beloved mother and grandmother passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her most cherished.
Alice was born in Dividend, Utah in 1925, and grew up in Salt Lake City, the eldest daughter of seven children. In 1946, Alice married Joe Cavazos, and together they created a strong family nourished by their effortless love and unique connections that they built with each family member over many years. Alice found her calling as a hairdresser, running a successful beauty shop from her home for over 40 years. It was within those walls that her many dedicated 'patrons' would confide, laugh loudly, and debate. After a long day's work, it was certain that she would be found in her kitchen preparing a meal for her viejito. With her unstoppable energy and love for humanity, she built long, strong bonds with so many.
Alice was meticulous, and everything she touched reflected her perfection, mediocrity was unacceptable. Hard working, resilient, kind and committed were the values that she would quietly instill in her family. True to her faith and her family, she held closely those she loved, and while she will be deeply missed, her joyous spirit will forever be with those who love her. Wife of 72 years, she leaves behind her husband, Joe; sons Dennis and David Cavazos, daughter Jody Cavazos Benns (Bryan) and grandchildren: Shellie Cavazos, Jeff Cavazos, Mark Cavazos, Kim Haywood (Josh), Brett Cavazos (Jamie), Ashlee Benns (Whitney), Evander Cavazos, daughter-in-law Pamela Cavazos and twelve great grandchildren.
The world will never see another like you, abuelita.
A wake will be held on Sunday, February 17th from 6 to 8 pm at Larkin Sunset Mortuary (2350 E 1300 S, Salt Lake City, 84108). Funeral mass will be held at St. Ann's Catholic Church on Monday, February 18th beginning at noon, followed by graveside services at Larkin Sunset Mortuary.
