SOSEBEE, Bertie Grace Mrs. Bertie Grace (Roundtree) Sosebee, 101, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday, March 15, 2019. She was born on August 3, 1917, to Elias and Minnie (Warren) Roundtree, in Frederick, Oklahoma. Grace Sosebee grew up in her beloved west Texas near Merkel, just west of Abilene. Some of her fondest memories were from her time spent there with her parents, her two older brothers, Martin and Fred, and numerous extended family members. Even in her later years, she could name all her childhood friends and teachers and loved to reminisce about those enjoyable times. Her family moved to Dallas, Texas in 1928. Grace attended school there until she began work as a clerk. She was working at the Department of Agriculture in Dallas when she met her beloved husband, Clifford Sosebee in 1939. They were married on June 1, 1940 and were married for 34 years until Clifford's death in 1974. They had five children. Grace worked at Sears Roebuck, Co. for several years in the catalog order department. She then worked for Titche-Goettinger (later Dillard's) in downtown Dallas for fifteen years in their accounts payable department. After a brief retirement in which she cared for her grandchildren, Grace was back to work! She worked for ten years for two Oak Cliff doctors as a bookkeeper, until she retired for good in 1994. Grace Sosebee was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Clifford, and her sons C. Dale and Donald Wayne. She is survived by her daughter Carolyn Browning (Ken) of Liberty Hill, Texas; her daughter Paula Leigh of Dallas, Texas; and, her son Mark Sosebee (Carol) of Cedar Hill, Texas. She is also survived by grandsons Jason Browning (Erin) of Leander, Texas; Greg Browning of Austin, Texas; and, Brandon Leigh (Jessica) of Carrollton, Texas; and, granddaughter Erin Adloo (Aria) of Shady Shores, Texas; great-grandchildren Kate Browning, Eric Browning, Miles Leigh, and Mason Adloo. Grace was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be greatly missed, but, will forever be in our hearts. We love you, Mom... Visitation for Ms. Bertie Grace Sosebee will be held Thursday, March 21, 2019 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Restland Funeral Home. Her funeral service will be held Friday, March 22, 2019 at 12:30 PM in the Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home located at 13005 Greenville Ave., Dallas, Texas 75243.
