RICCO, Anna G. Anna G. Ricco was born Billie Ann Gray near Blue Ridge, Texas, located north of McKinney, and passed away June 1st, 2019 at 5:45 am. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, who passed away May 4th, 2019 at 5:45 am. They shared a love usually seen only in the movies. In 1971, Anna married Nicholas Ricco, combined their families of six children and blended a loving and close family. They enjoyed a life of adventure, love and great business success. They loved and nurtured their 6 children, 17 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. They traveled throughout the world, but more importantly, they actively supported higher education, as well as military and civic organizations in North Texas and throughout the country. Anna and her late husband served on University of North Texas advisory boards at the School of Music, the Mayborn Graduate School of Journalism and the College of Business (COBA). Together, Anna and her husband provided scholarships and mentored hundreds of students over the years. They endowed the Ricco Ethics Scholarship Awards at UNT-Denton, UNT-Dallas and the UNT Health Science Center to encourage and promote ethics among students. The offices of the Dean and its administrative staff at the UNT College of Music was renamed the "CDR Nicholas and Anna Ricco Dean's Suite" in 2018. Anna and Nicholas became friends of the Fort Worth Aviation Museum, and were presented with the annual Wings Award for their contributions to preserving the aviation history of North Texas. Anna and Nicholas also mentored the Naval Civilian Cadet Corp of the Dallas ISD Middle School system and were strong supporters of the US Naval Sea Cadet Corps and the Navy League of the United States. In 2003, Anna and Nick were recognized by the Texas Legislature and in 2008, both were appointed Admirals in the Texas Navy by then Governor Rick Perry for their many civic and charitable contributions. She was preceded in death by her husband, CDR Nicholas D. Ricco, parents Robert and Lela Gray, brothers Robert and Jack Gray. Survivors include her children: Sam Kleinman and Deborah Gershon, Nicholas, Jr and Sue Ricco, Nanette Ricco, Lisa and John Sutter, Ken and Susie Kleinman, Vince and Alicia Ricco. Grandchildren: Jeremy Netka, Jason Victor, Jayne Ricco, Emily Ricco, Taylor Ricco, Annie Ricco, Avery Ricco, Sarah Idlett, Stephanie Beckwith, Kateann Kleinman, Herschel Kleinman, Sabrina Roppolo, Alexander Ricco, Gwendolyn Ricco, Madelyn Ricco, Samantha Leef, and Austin Ricco. Great grandchildren: Sky Netka, Ava Netka, Jake Victor, Ansleigh Ricco, Judge Ricco, Nicole Idlett, Jacob Idlett, Logan Beckwith, and great-great grandchild, Carmen Idlett.
