IWANSKI, Anthony Philip Born November 1, 1949 in Dallas, Texas and passed away July 14, 2019 at the age of 69. Tony is proceeded in death by his parents Mary and Ted Iwanski, and brother Jim. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Linda Iwanski, son Jesse and daughter Rachel, brothers Jon, Paul and wife Laura, Steve and husband Daniel, sister Charlotte Williams and husband Dale, and numerous other family members and friends. Tony was passionate about many things in life, most especially his family. He was a football, basketball, and horse racing fan, and was also a very skilled gambler. He helped coach his kid's basketball team in the Mesquite City League. Tony loved books and was well-read on a variety of topics. He also loved food, and fell in love with gumbo and etouffee on his frequent visits to New Orleans. Tony was a member of the Mesquite Community Theatre and was very involved as the Technical Director, though he occasionally acted. In January 2019 the Theatre honored him by naming their achievement award the Tony Iwanski Outstanding Achievement Award. He was a member of the Mesquite Arts Council Grant Committee and volunteered as an actor for Historic Mesquite, as well as performing in character roles for his daughter's ballet company. He was very active in his children's school and extracurricular activities, and volunteered every time he was given an opportunity. Tony was a very calm and loving soul who brought a sense of peace with him wherever he went. With all his accomplishments in life, his greatest joy was his family and being a father to his children. Tony would be honored through a donation to the Mesquite Community Center. Visitation will be 6-8 pm 7/19/19 and Memorial Service will be 11 am 7/20/19 at Anderson Clayton Gonzalez Funeral Home at 1111 Military Pkwy, Mesquite, TX 75149
