HERNANDEZ, Catalina Catalina Esparza Hernandez passed away peacefully on March 11, 2019 in Dallas, Texas. Born in San Luis Potosi, Mexico on April 29, 1935 to Soledad Mujica and Jose Esparza and married Gilbert A. Hernandez on October 11, 1956. They lived happily for many years until her loving husband preceded her in death. She will be missed by her children Isis and Roland Vasquez, Kelvia Hernandez, Gilda and Earl McKoon, Efrem and Ana Hernandez, Rhoan and Cathy Hernandez, her grandchildren Nicolette, Mary Elizabeth, Earl III, Michael Shea, Rhesa, Nick, Ben, Eleni, Noa and her great grandchildren Emerson, Maya, Luna, Nora, as well as her siblings Genoveva Esparza, Tina Perez, Gilberto Esparza and Minerva Martinez. She will join her sisters Victoria Aldana and Julieta Mirabel. For more than six decades she was an active member of Agape United Methodist Church (formerly Mary King UMC and Latin America UMC). Catalina served the church in many capacities including Sunday School Superintendent for many years until her passing. She proudly shared her faith through words and actions. She also voluntarily taught English to non-English speaking students in DISD many years ago. She was a wonderful example to us all. She will be greatly missed. Visitation and Service will be held at Restland on Sunday March 17th. Visitation begins at 1:30pm followed by the funeral service at 2:30pm in the Memorial Chapel.
