BELL, Alvie Vernon Alvie Vernon Bell, 85, passed away on May 2nd, 2019. Alvie served in the United States Air Force, as a crew chief on F86F fighter jets, and attained the rank of Staff Sergeant. While deployed at Bentwaters AFB, near Ipswich, England, he met the love of his life, Patricia Bailey. The couple married in September, 1958, and moved to Texas in 1959, where they lived together for nearly 62 years. Alvie provided for his family through hard work and a huge heart. At various times, Alvie drove a cab, was an aircraft mechanic, tested environmental chambers, serviced electronic test equipment, sold toys, and founded a business specializing in the installation of in-ground water-source heat pumps. Alvie is survived by his wife, Patricia, his son, Scott, and two grandchildren, James and Bethany, sisters Mina Bell and Nina McLaughlin. A service will be held at Alexis Estates, 680 N. Watters Rd, Allen Texas, on May 18th, 2019.
