Alex Zecca Jr., age 81, of Brick, N.J., passed away at home on Wednesday, March 20, 2019, surrounded by his family.
The family will receive relatives and friends for a viewing on Sunday, March 24, 2019, from 3 to 8 p.m., at Colonial Funeral Home, 2170 Highway 88, Brick.
Family and friends will meet at 11:15 a.m. on Monday at St. Lucy's Church, 118 7th Ave., Newark, N.J. Interment will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Montclair, N.J.

Born in Newark to Alessandro and Teresa (Battista) Zecca, Alex lived in Belleville, N.J., prior to moving to Brick 20 years ago.
He worked as a manager for the Newark Housing Authority and retired from Essex County, where he worked as an investigator in the fraud division for many years.
Alex was a member of the Brick Republican Club and a parishioner of St. Lucy's Church in Newark.
Alex is survived by his wife, Judith Zecca of Brick; his daughter, Jacqueline Garfield and her husband, Paul, of Bridgewater, N.J.; grandchildren, Alexandra, and Jonathan and his wife, Christina; great-granddaughter, Addison (Sunshine); nephews, Robert, Michael and John Zecca; niece, Grace Zecca-Jones, and many beloved cousins and dear friends.
