Beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, created memorable meals for memorable family moments
Anne E. Statile, (nee Zigrino), 92, of Springfield, N.J., passed away peacefully on Monday, March 11, 2019. She was born on April 4, 1926 in Hartford, Conn., and grew up in Jersey City, N.J.
Anne was predeceased by her husband, Philip L. Statile and her siblings, Frank Zigrino, Rocco Zigrino, James Zigrino, Mary Zigrino, Angela Zigrino and Bill and Clara Doland.
She is survived by her son, Leonard (Diane); daughters, Lucretia Scott (Robert) and Madeline Petrilli; grandchildren, Annmarie Sirois (Chad), Melissa Manies (Patrick), Philip L. Statile (Jaclyn), Nicolas Scott (Brianna), Daniel Scott (Suzanne), Cristina Scott and Suzanne Petrilli.
She was the beloved great-grandmother to Jake Sirois, Brady Sirois, Carlee Sirois, Cory Scott, Ryan Scott, Chiara Scott, Natalie Statile, Philip L. Statile Jr. and Ethan Manies. She is also survived by her beloved sister-in-law, Anna Colantone; cousin, Maurice Gallipoli (Marion) and her dedicated caregiver, Viera Stretavska.
Anne was a devoted wife and mother whose life centered around her family and friends. She was active in school projects supporting her children in all of their endeavors. Anne enjoyed travelling with her husband on many trips both in the U.S. and abroad to their beloved Italy.
Known for her excellent culinary skills, she often prepared meals for family and friends providing many joyous occasions for all. She will be remembered for her generosity, love and concern for others and their well-being, one always willing to lend a hand to her children and grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to honor Anne's life by attending visitation at Bradley, Smith and Smith Funeral Home, 415 Morris Ave., Springfield, on Thursday, March 14, from 4 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Friday, March 15, at 10 a.m. at St. James the Apostle Church, 45 South Springfield Ave., Springfield 07081. An entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, N.J.
