Barbara A. Schott, 85, 0f Livingston, N.J., passed away Monday, April 15, 2019. She was born in Jersey City, N.J., to Walter and Adelaid Flynn.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Ave., Livingston, N.J., on Saturday, April 27, from 10 to 11:30 a.m., followed by a chapel service at the funeral home. Interment to follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, N.J.
Barbara was born and raised in Jersey City before moving to Livingston to live with her sister and husband. She enjoyed working as a waitress in Jersey City for many years, where she met her husband. Barbara was an enthusiastic animal lover and cared for her precious cat, Aggy. She loved cooking and saw the world through a simple lens of love and fairness.
Predeceased by her beloved husband, Helmut Schott; her sister, Dorothy Woodin, and her husband, William; brothers-in-law, Joseph Hoffman and Louis Gurry, and nephew, Joseph Hoffman, Barbara is survived by her sisters-in-law, Adeline Hoffman and Betty Gurry, and was the devoted aunt of nieces, Donna Jackson (Roy), Janice Hoffman (Dean), Carol Filak (Michael), Laura Buzzard, and nephew Robert Gurry (Holly). She was the cherished great-aunt of 12 and their families, and treasured friend of many.
