Longtime Newark resident; Mass is on Saturday
Alice Russomanno, 89, of Newark, N.J., passed away on Monday, Feb. 11, 2019.
Born in Nanticoke, Pa., the daughter of Patrick and Catherine (Mayday) O'Donnel, she lived in Nanticoke prior to moving to Newark 70 years ago. Prior to her retirement, she was a waitress at La Strada Restaurant in Newark.
She is survived by her loving children, Rocco and Dorothy Ann Russomanno; two caring sisters, Loretta Urban and Patricia Cherpak. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Rita O'Donnell, Marie Novelli, and Carole Zakrzewski, and her brothers, Patrick and Joseph "Woodsie" O'Donnell.
The funeral will be Saturday, Feb. 16, from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, (swbrownandson.com), 267 Centre St., Nutley, N.J. at 10 a.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Lucy's Church in Newark at 11 a.m.
The entombment will follow at the Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington, N.J.
Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Thursday and Friday from 4 to 8 p.m.
