Donald was born and raised in Orange, N.J., to Michael and Maria (Tutalo) Pizzi. He moved to New Providence in 1952. Donald was well loved in the community. After retirement he worked at NP Fuel in New Providence, and was considered "the unofficial Mayor." He was very active with the Paca Club, hands on for whatever was needed, even entertaining the crowd with his singing and dancing. He was also a past member of the New Providence VFW. Donald enjoyed making people laugh. He was a diehard Yankees and Giants fan, an avid reader, gardener, and loved his trips with his family to Italy. Most of all, he cherished his time with his three grandsons.
Donald was a veteran of the U.S. Army who served during the Korean War. He later worked for the LTA Group/ Argix Logistics in Secaucus, N.J., and Jamesburg, N.J., for many years.
Donald is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Angelina (née Guerriero); his loving children, Laura Ann Pizzi of New Providence, and Donald Michael and his wife, Roseann of Westfield, N.J.; his cherished grandsons, Beau Anthony Jones, Skylar Aaron Pizzi and Gianni Pagano Pizzi; his dear siblings, Janet Munz and her husband, Rupert, Michael Pizzi and his wife, Patricia, and many loving nieces and nephews.
