Anthony "Tony" L. Mita, 65, passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2019, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Somerset in Somerville, N.J.
Born in Newark, N.J., Tony resided in Livingston, N.J., for many years before moving to Martinsville, N.J., 32 years ago.
Tony was employed by Beneficial Insurance Companies in Morristown/Peapack, N.J., as a programmer. For the past 14 years he worked as a consultant with Luxoft USA Inc. as a Project manager for Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation in East Hanover.
He was a member of Blessed Sacrament R.C. Church in Martinsville. Anthony enjoyed music, all sports and was a talented artist. His greatest joy was spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren, who he loved very much.
He is survived by his loving wife, Cindy DeMatteo Mita; children, Jacqueline Picard and her husband, Urban II; Margot Dolbier and her husband, James, and Kyle Mita and his significant other, Logan Swain; grandchildren, Tripp, Nathan, Oliver, Colette and one on the way; siblings, Marianne Stout, Rocco and Wendy Mita, Michael Mita and David Mita.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 22, 2019, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, N.J. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2019, at 10:30 a.m. at Wilson Memorial Church, Watchung. Cremation is private. Donations may be made to woundedwarriorproject.org.
