Anna M. Lungren (nee Laudati), 94, passed away April 3, 2019.
The funeral will be Monday, April 8, 2019, at 9 a.m., from the S.W. Brown and Son Funeral Home, (www.swbrownandson.com), 267 Centre St., Nutley. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Nutley at 10 a.m. The entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington, N.J. Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Saturday, April 6, from 1 to 4 p.m.
Born in Newark, N.J., Anna and her husband, Howard, moved to Nutley in 1966.
Mrs. Lungren worked for the Government, retiring in 1981 after serving as secretary to the director of the Veterans Administration Regional Office in Newark, N.J., for 38 years. After a few years of retirement, Mrs. Lungren returned to work part-time, working in the Department of Code Enforcement at Nutley Town Hall.
A very active senior, Mrs. Lungren was a member of the Golden Age Club of Nutley, the Belleville Park Wednesday Club, and the Nutley Senior Citizens Club in Nutley. Among other activities, she had served as president of the Nutley Elks Ladies Auxiliary. Beginning in 1979, Mrs. Lungren was also a notary public for many years.
Mrs. Lungren was predeceased by her loving parents, Sabato "Sam" and Elvira (Santaniello) Laudati, and her beloved husband of 45 years, Howard Lungren.
Her much-loved siblings also predeceased her, brothers, Anthony, Dominick, and Thomas Laudati, and her sister, Filomena Cusanelli-Viola, who was also her dearest friend.
She is survived by three generations of much loved nieces and nephews, including great and great-great-descendants.
