Anthony A. LaSalle of Union, N.J., passed away peacefully on Friday, Aug. 9, 2019, at his home, at the age of 83.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Tuesday, Aug. 13, from 4 to 8 p.m., at Paul Ippolito Summit Memorial, 7 Summit Ave., Summit, N.J. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, Aug. 14, at 11:30 a.m., at St. James the Apostle Church, South Springfield Ave., Springfield, N.J. Anthony was born in Newark, N.J., on July 14, 1936. He was the son of Anna (nee Barca) and Angelo LaSalle. Anthony grew up in Summit, N.J., and attended Summit High School. He was a resident of Union, N.J., since 1966.
Anthony was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in the Korean War until his honorable discharge. He was employed as a night crew chief at the A&P Supermarket in New Providence, N.J., for many years until his retirement.
He also worked as a caddy at the Baltusrol Golf Club for many years, where he caddied in the U.S. Open in 1954. Anthony loved golfing and watching NASCAR.
He is survived by his loving children, Anthony M. LaSalle and his wife Cindy, and Debra Lynn LaSalle. Anthony was the cherished grandfather of Maya and Gia LaSalle. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Rosemary (nee Pugliese) LaSalle, and his brother, Ralph LaSalle.
