Parkway toll collector, avid traveler, loving grandmother
Amelia (nee Betar) Kosmenchuk, 91, of Clifton, N.J., passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2019.
Born in Paterson, N.J., Ms. Kosmenchuk resided there until moving to Clifton in 1969. She worked for the Garden State Parkway for 23 years as a toll collector. Prior to that she was employed by ITT Sheraton for many years. She was an avid traveler, having visited many countries throughout the years. She also enjoyed playing bingo, primarily at the Clifton Boys and Girls Club.
Ms. Kosmenchuk was predeceased by her husband, Walter, in 1996, and her brothers, Nosary, Louis, William and Edward Betar. She is survived by her two daughters, Laura McNeill and her husband, Richard, and Karen Serritella and her husband, Nicholas; her beloved grandson, Michael Serritella; brothers, Norman and George Betar and their families; sisters, Yvonne Panicci, Margaret Antonczyk, and Lorraine Dunkerly and their families, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visiting will be held Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Ave., Clifton. The funeral service will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Please visit bizub.com for driving directions and online condolences.
