Loving husband, father, grandfather, WWII veteran
David Epstein, 96, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 1, 2019, at Cornell Hall Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Union, N.J.
David is survived by his two sons, Sanford and Gary; his daughter-in-law, Selina, and four grandchildren, Justin, Alisha, Craig, and Robyn, and was predeceased by his wife of 68 years, Doris.
David was born in Newark, N.J. He was a World War II veteran. After the war, he owned and operated Mayers Cleaners in Orange, N.J., for 40 years. It was one of the first known one-hour dry cleaning services in the country.
David was a lifelong member of the YMHA spanning over 80 years! He was a strong supporter of the Fraternal Order of Police. His humor and overall good nature was infectious to all who knew him.
Graveside services will be held on Sunday, March 3, at 12 noon at Beth Israel Memorial Park, Route 1, Woodbridge, N.J. under the direction of Menorah Chapels at Millburn, 2950 Vauxhall Rd. Vauxhall, N.J. 07088.
