Beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather
Arthur W. Ellermann, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully at JFK Haven Hospice on June 5, 2019, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on Aug. 7, 1931 at home in Union City, New Jersey, Arthur served in the United States Army during the Korean War (1950-1954). He returned home and earned his degree in accounting from St. Peter's College in 1958. Post-graduation, Arthur earned his CPA and served as chief financial officer at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center for over 27 years.
Arthur's greatest joy in life was his family. Upon retirement, he became an avid golfer. Arthur was a communicant of St. John Vianney, where he served as a Eucharistic minister and a member of the parish council.
Arthur was predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Bessie.
A longtime resident of Colonia, N.J., Arthur is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Mary. He also leaves behind his six beloved children, Marybeth Brems (Bill), Patricia, Arthur Jr. (Teresa), Linda Lordi (Joe), Judith Carney, Melissa Campione (Ralph). He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Jillian, Maggie (Michael), Jacob, John Henry (Morgan), Seton (Liam), Christian, Ryan, Chelsea (Brian), Mary Claire, Connor, Kyle, Grace, Michael, Madelyn; and his four great-grandchildren, Liam, Hadley, Robby and Delaney. He also leaves behind his brother, Kenneth, and his two sisters, Alice and Karen.
Friends may visit the Gosselin Funeral Home, 660 New Dover Rd., Edison, N.J., on Friday, June 7, 2019 ,from 4 to 8 p.m.
Funeral services will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday June 8, 2019. A mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. John Vianney, 420 Inman Avenue Colonia, NJ on Saturday, June 8, 2019, at 9:30 a.m. Interment will take place at a later date.
