Claire R. Duffy, 93, of Montville, N.J., passed away March 1, 2019.
Funeral services will begin Monday, March 4, at 10:45 a.m. from Shook's Cedar Grove Funeral Home, Inc., 486 Pompton Ave. (Rt. 23), Cedar Grove, N.J. 07009. A Funeral Mass will be offered at 11:15 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Church in Cedar Grove with interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, N.J.
Visiting hours will be Sunday, March 3, from 3 to 7 p.m. in the funeral home. Condolences and memories may be shared at shookscedargrove.com.
Born the daughter of Eugene and Catherine O'Mara in Newark, N.J., Claire grew up in South Orange, moved to Newark, and settled in Cedar Grove, where she raised her family.
Since 2001, Claire resided with her daughter and family in Montville. Early in her career, she was an administrative operator for N.J. Bell in Newark, then worked at Hartwyck Convalescent Center and as a crossing guard in Cedar Grove.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Charles A. Duffy; beloved son, Charles J. Duffy and siblings, Eugene, Vincent, Eileen, Catherine, and Mae.
Surviving are her devoted children, Michael O'Mara Duffy and his wife, Susan, and Maureen Claire Matthews and her husband, Thomas; cherished grandchildren, Michael, William, Daniel, Thomas, and Margaret Claire. Also surviving is her beloved caregiver, Diana.
