Loving wife, best mom, caring grandmother, dear friend
Assunta Delia (nee Pichi), 98, Livingston, N.J., passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Friday, June 21, 2019.
Born in Dover, N.J., Assunta lived in Livingston for over 60 years with her husband, Anthony, while raising their children.
She was a loving wife, best Mom in the world, caring grandmother, and friend to all who knew her. Known for her quick wit and her abundant supply of wisdom, Assunta worked for many years as a maternity nurse at St. Barnabas, retiring at the age of 72.
She was predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Anthony. She is survived by her children, Rosanne Chieffo (Al), Ronald (Annie), and Anthony (Michele). She also leaves her seven loving grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Thursday, June 27, from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Ave., Livingston. Funeral Mass will be offered Friday, June 28, at 10 a.m. at St. Philomena's Church, Livingston. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, N.J.
