Carolyn L. Coppola (nee Conzo), of Lyndhurst, N.J., died on Saturday, June 1, 2019, hours before her 99th birthday.
Mrs. Coppola was born in Lyndhurst and lived her entire life in town. She worked for Western Electric as a PBX assembler, was a member of their Telephone Pioneer Club of America for 44 years, and was very proud of her work accomplishments.
She met Pasquale Coppola by becoming "pen pals" between here and Italy. They were married for 60 years when Pasquale died in December 2008.
Carolyn is survived by her loving children, Gerald Coppola and his wife, Susan, and Concetta Gregory and her husband, Nicholas; her cherished grandchildren, Suzy O'Mara and her husband, Matthew, Luisa Surma and her husband, Mark, Liz Restrepo and her husband, Juan, Gerilyn Coppola, Michael Gregory and Nicole Gregory; her dear great-grandchildren, Francesca, Jackson, Joseph and Jordan; her nieces and nephews, and extended family in Italy.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation held at the Nazare Memorial Home, Inc., 403 Ridge Rd., Lyndhurst, on Tuesday, June 4, 2019, from 3 to 8 p.m. All will gather at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 5, 2019, at 9 a.m., then to Sacred Heart Church, Lyndhurst, where at 10 a.m. a Funeral Mass will be offered.
