Betsy (Pike) Clark
Graduate of Ridge High School
Elizabeth Ann Clark, 61, of East Hampton, Conn., passed away on April 3, 2019, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Services will be held at Gallaway and Crane Funeral Home at 101 S. Findley Ave., Basking Ridge, N.J., from 10 to 11 a.m., on Saturday, April 13, 2019.
Born on May 1, 1957, to the late Herbert Joseph and Muriel Joyce Pike, Betsy is survived by her beloved husband, Lloyd Clark; her brother, Thomas; her daughter, Stephanie Krus, and son-in law, Kevin Corcoran, and her son, Timothy Krus.
Betsy, as she was known, grew up in Basking Ridge and Martinsville, N.J., and attended Basking Ridge schools. She was active in drama and chorus, and added her beautiful voice to the Presbyterian Church choirs. She graduated from Somerset Community College and attended Virginia Tech.
She married Dennis Krus in 1978, and had her two lovely children with him. She remarried to Lloyd Clark, who she was friends with at Ridge High School, in 2009, and lived in Dayton, Ohio, before they retired to live in East Hampton, near her daughter.
She held many diverse jobs; her favorites were newspaper advertising, and assessing estates and antiques. She had abundant talent and love for music, and sang professionally for a madrigal singers group. She was a lifelong birdwatcher and member of the Audubon Society. She adopted and loved many pet animals over the years. She was an avid reader, a lifelong learner, and loved researching history and family ancestry.
The most important thing in her life was spending time with her family. She filled the room with her cheerful and engaging conversations. She was a great listener and had a tremendous memory. She will be most remembered for her selfless loving and giving, kindness and compassion.
She was deeply loved by her family and friends. She was the light of our lives, the glue that held our family together. She will be forever missed.
