Enjoyed hosting Sunday dinners for her family
Ann Berger passed away at home surrounded by family on March 3, 2019. She was 95.
Born in Mahanoy, Pa., to parents, John and Catherine (nee Remais) Petrucka, she lived in in Hillside, N.J., Elizabeth, N.J., and Long Valley, N.J., before moving to Mendham, N.J., six years ago. She was a longtime parishioner of Holy Trinity Church in Union, N.J., involved in the church from 1965 to 2012. She also spent many years as an office clerk in the credit department of Jaeger Lumber in Union.
In her free time, Ann loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed hosting Sunday dinners and holidays with family and friends. She loved making her infamous beef stew, lemon meringue and apple pies and chocolate coconut cake for everyone.
Ann was predeceased by her husband of over 60 years, Fred, in 2010.
She is survived by her three daughters, Jeanne (Bill) Washkau of Long Valley, N.J., Judi Mansilla of Califon, N.J., and Susan (James) Skuraton of Mendham, N.J., one sister, Gail Chernansky of Connectivut, 11 grandchildren, one great- grandson, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 5, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Bailey Funeral Home, 8 Hilltop Road, Mendham followed by a funeral service from 7 to 8 p.m. The family will gather at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 6 at 9:30 a.m. and leave at 10 a.m. for burial at Hollywood Memorial Park in Union, N.J.
