He was an accomplished guitarist and music innovator in home town Winnipeg and its' burgeoning music scene in the 60's and 70's. Adams was well known as band founder, rhythm guitarist and lead singer in popular Winnipeg rock groups including The Shags and the Black Cat in the era of Chad Allan and the Reflections, and Burton Cummings and the Devrons. Adams also played with Neil Young who acknowledges Adams talent in his book, Sugar Mountain Years. They were Winnipeg classmates. "The audience vigorously enjoyed three Beatle songs which were sung by Stuart Adams and Neil Young. Adams performance was complete with English accent was singled out as something special." writes Neil Young. Stu emigrated to the USA and settled in Houston where he played local venues with friends in the "Crossroads" group. Stu's endearing legacy is his music history and love of rock n' roll. He never let go of his music roots, nor his authentic English accent.
A Celebration of Life is planned in Houston on January 26.
