Alvin S. Lemons Jr., 68, of West Orange, N.J., passed into eternal life on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2019, surrounded by his loving family.
Friends and family are invited to attend the Memorial Service at Bethany Baptist Church, 275 West Market St., Newark, N.J., on Saturday, Jan. 26, at 1 p.m. Cremation will be private.
Alvin was born May 21, 1950, in Baton Rouge, La., to the union of Alvin S. Lemons Sr. and Bernice Lemons (both deceased). He attended Southern University Laboratory School, Southern University A&M College, and completed his degree graduating from NYU.
Alvin was well loved by his family and everyone who knew him, and he will be dearly missed by all. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Nedra Lemons; son, Erik Lemons; daughter, Erin Lemons McGilberry; grandson,Tyler Dean Lemons; two sisters, Tonya Lemons, Kathy Sanders; son-in-law, Rahman McGilberry; aunt, Ruth Crawford; five brothers-in-law, two sisters-in-law, as well as a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
