Cheryl M. Hawk, 69, made her transition on Jan. 10, 2019.
A celebration of her life will be held Tuesday, 10 a.m., at Metropolitan Baptist Church, 149 Springfield Ave., Newark, N.J. Interment is in Fairmount Cemetery, Newark, N.J. Visitation is Tuesday, 8 a.m. until time of service. Arrangements by Whigham Funeral Home.
Born in Newark, Cheryl was a resident of Hillside, N.J.
The beloved wife of Freddie S. Hawk, she received her BA from The College of New Jersey and her MA from Kean University. She was a retired educator for the Newark Board of Education.
She was the devoted mother of Tyrone and Michael Hawk; daughter of the late Willie Mae and Louis David White; cherished sister of Traecy Lee, and the late Marsha Gray and Wayne White. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
