Joseph C. Fobert Jr.
Devoted father of four; self-employed musician
Joseph C. Fobert Jr. (Piano Joe), 72, of Newton, N.J., passed away on Dec. 30, 2018.
Visitation will be Thursday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., at the Goble Funeral Home, 22 Main St., Sparta, N.J. 07871. A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, at Our Lady of the Lake Church, 294 Sparta Ave., Sparta, N.J. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, N.J.
Joseph was born in East Orange, N.J., and was a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving during Vietnam. He was a music teacher, self-employed musician, vocalist, having played for the Miss America Pageant, Night of One Hundred Stars, and had the pleasure of accompanying Liza Minelli and Ben Vereen.
Joseph is survived by his beloved wife of 25 years, Diane (nee Cook) Fobert; devoted father of Joseph C. Fobert lll and his wife, Nadia, Lori Wohltman and her husband, Louis, Kelly Tracy and her husband, Robert, and Andrea Santucci; devoted grandfather of Brianna, Louis, Gabrielle, Zachary, Annabel, Mikayla, Ian, Jake, Kadence, Calista, Delaina, and Evali, and great-grandson, Craig.
