Andrew (Andy) Reid Andrew (Andy) Reid died peacefully in South San Francisco on December 20, 2018 at the age of 84.
Andy is survived by his sister Margaret Buchanan of Mississauga Canada and nieces Maryanne Parkhurst, Susan Buchanan, Catherine Gray and Dale Bell. He is preceded in death by his loving wife Roberta from British Columbia.
Andy was born on October 21, 1934 in Glasgow Scotland to Andrew and Jean Reid. He joined the Royal Navy at age 17 as an electrician. He remained in the service for 10 years after which he emigrated to America. It was then that he began working for United Airlines. He worked for United until his retirement.
After Andy and Robbie were married, they spent many vacations traveling in British Columbia in their motorhome - camping, fishing and hunting. Andy was an avid sportsman who excelled at marksmanship. He won many awards in the sport. He also enjoyed golf and cycling.
A celebration of life for Andy will be held at the Elks Club, 920 Stonegate Drive, SSF on Sunday January 13th 2019 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Andrew's life.
It was Andy's wish to be cremated and his ashes scattered off the coast of Marin County where he will join his wife Robbie. This has already taken place.
