Mr. Charles H. Robinson, 93, of Elizabeth, N.J., died on Wednesday at Trinitas Regional Medical Center, Elizabeth.
Due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, a private funeral service and burial were held from the August F. Schmidt Memorial Funeral Home, 139 Westfield Ave., Elizabeth. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Memorial Fund of the Roselle United Methodist Church, 214 Sheridan Ave., Roselle 07203 would be appreciated.
Charles was a lifelong Elizabeth resident, and was a retired mixer for Interbake Foods (Burry Biscuit), Elizabeth, for 20 years, retiring in 1995. Prior, he worked for Schweitzer Paper Mill and Barret Paper Mill in Elizabeth.
Charles was a U.S. Marine Corps WWII veteran serving in the South Pacific theater. He was a member of the Marine Corps League and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Maplewood Post. He was a lifelong member of the Astronomy Club of Cranford, N.J. He was a member of the former Park United Methodist Church and the former Epworth United Methodist Church, both of Elizabeth, where he served as head usher. He was presently a member of Roselle United Methodist Church.
He was predeceased by his wife, Edna Weber Robinson, who died in 2002. He is survived by his daughter, Carryl B. Robinson of Elizabeth; three nieces, Janyth Primrose and her husband, Allen, Robyn Pond and her husband, Fred, and Lynn Pearse; and a nephew, Michael Gerescher and his wife, Carol.
