Donald R. Ferentz, 89 years old, of Edison, N.J., passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2020 at Chester County Hospital, West Chester, Pa.
He was born in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., and raised in Ashley before moving to Edison in 1960. Donald proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He received his Bachelor of Arts from King's College in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., and his Master's in Education from Rutgers College.
Donald worked for the Edison Township Public Schools for over 33 years as a Social Studies teacher at Thomas Jefferson Junior High School, retiring in 1989. He was predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Mildred Ferentz nee Meza, in 2010 and his sister, Marcella Ferentz. He is survived by his daughter, Donna Ferentz-Mazur and her husband, Mark, of West Chester, Pa.
Boylan Funeral Home, 10 Wooding Avenue, Edison, has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements. A Memorial Mass will be arranged to celebrate his life at a later date.
