Mrs. Betty Jean Dries passed away Friday, Jan. 24, 2020, at the Atria Care Center in Cranford. She was 96 years old.
Born in Bellingham, Wash., she resided in Westfield, N.J., coming from Morristown, N.J.
Betty worked as a saleswoman for Ginty's Irish Gift Shop in Morristown, and was active with the Morristown Rotary and Senior Citizens Clubs.
Mrs. Betty Jean Dries was predeceased by her husband, John W. Dries in 2002, and by her sons, John and Michael Dries.
She is survived by her son, Thomas Dries and his wife, Joanne; by her granddaughters, Cherish Toy and her husband, Steven and Nicole Palmeri and her husband, Anthony; by her seven great-grand children, Anthony, Alyssa, Angelo, Emily, Sara, Lauren, and Steven.
Friends and family will gather between 4 and 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 28 at the Dooley Colonial Home, 556 Westfield Ave,. Westfield 07090. The funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home followed by burial in Fairview Cemetery in Westfield.
