Service is in Westfield for 'doting and generous grandmother'
Elaine Della Badia, 84, of Tinton Falls, N.J., formerly of Westfield, N.J., passed away peacefully on Feb. 20, 2020.
Visitation will be on Monday, March 2, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Higgins and Bonner Echo Lake Funeral Home, 582 Springfield Ave., Westfield, N.J., 07090, with a service at 7 p.m. Burial will be on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery in Westfield.
Born in Orange, N.J., Elaine grew up in Bloomfield, N.J., attending Bloomfield High School, where she was a member of the Wolverines, a group of women who remained friends throughout their lives.
Elaine raised her family in Westfield and worked as a payroll supervisor for 16 years at Boyle Midway in Cranford, N.J. She then worked for 10 years as the billing supervisor at the Westfield law firm McDonough, Korn and Eichhorn.
She took great joy watching her three sons, and later her grandchildren, play countless sporting events over the years, with baseball being her favorite sport. She was a doting and generous grandmother who was beloved by all her grandchildren.
She is survived by her sons, Joe and his wife, Rhonda, of Warren, N.J., Tom and his wife, Ann Marie, of Westfield, N.J., and Dave of Randolph, N.J, and her grandchildren, Jason and his wife, Daniela, Dan, Tyler, Paige and DJ, and her great-granddaughter, Penelope. She is also survived by her brother, Gavin Stobie Jr. and his wife, Linda, of Lakewood, N.J., and five nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Westfield Rescue Squad, 335 Watterson Street, Westfield, N.J. or Seabrook Village Library Fund, Large Print Books, 3000 Essex Road, Tinton Falls, N.J., 07753.
