Edward J. Wolf, 91, passed away on Feb. 26, 2020. Born in Newark, N.J., on Jan. 15,1929, he was the son of the late Mary (Tremmel) and Joseph Wolf.
He lived in Mountainside, N.J., for 57 years and was a parishioner at Our Lady of Lourdes Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He served in the Merchant Marines during World War II.
Edward was predeceased by his wife, Lois (D' Alessandro) in 2017. He is survived by his daughters, Christine Ludwig (Francis) of Clinton, N.J., and Patrice Mascaro (Frank) of Kenilworth, N.J.
Also surviving are grandchildren, Meredith Bryer, Daniel (Carrie) Bryer, Michael (Diana) Bryer, Adrienne (Desmond) Herrera, F. Joseph Mascaro III and Nicholas Mascaro. Additionally he is survived by nine great-grandchildren.
Edward was retired from the Port Authority having served as chief of operations at Newark International Airport and supervisor at JFK and Teterboro Airports, interacting with presidents, foreign dignitaries and celebrities during his tenure. He loved cars (particularly Cadillacs), airplanes and the Jersey shore.
Above all he loved and supported his family.
There will be a memorial service at Higgins and Bonner Echo Lake Funeral Home, 582 Springfield Ave., Westfield, N.J., on Saturday, March 7 at 9:30 a.m. followed by entombment at Fairview Cemetery in Westfield. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to .
