Elizabeth O. Cuccerre, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, entered into rest on Tuesday, the 18th of February 2020. She was 89 years of age.
Born on the 24th of January 1931 to Italian parents, Alfonso and Mary Rigamonti Guerrini, she was a native Houstonian and first generation Italian who grew up in a very traditional and proud Italian family with four sisters and three brothers.
She attended Incarnate Word Academy and Southwestern Business University and worked as an Administrative Assistant for many years.
As a woman of grace and poise, she will be remembered for having lived a life that exemplified values and traditions, held so strongly by her Italian Catholic heritage with devotion to her faith and love for family. The focus of her life was always her family and her 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Elizabeth was a lifelong and active member of Assumption Catholic Church and worked with many of the church organizations.
She was very involved in numerous Italian cultural and religious organizations including: The Italian Cultural and Community Center, NeoDebs, Ladies of Sacred Heart, Maria del Balzo Society, Charity Guild of Saint Joseph, Assumption Saint Vincent DePaul Society, Altar Society, Harvest Years and Incarnate Word Alumnae. Past member of Executive Women International and Professional Secretaries International.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 61 years, Dominic B. Cuccerre, Sr. and her son, Anthony Robert Cuccerre, she is survived by her children, Nick Cuccerre Jr., Antoinette Cuccerre Hrncir and her husband Thomas Hrncir, Sr., Phillip Cuccerre and his wife Jackie, Margarette Cuccerre Baumbach and her husband Michael, and Lisa Cuccerre and her husband Dominic Mallozzi.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with her family from four o'clock in the afternoon until eight o'clock in the evening on Friday, the 28th of February, in the Jasek Chapel of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston, where recitation of the Holy Rosary is to commence at six o'clock.
A Mass of Christian Burial is to be offered at ten o'clock in the morning on Saturday, the 29th of February, at Assumption Catholic Church, 901 Roselane Street in Houston.
The Rite of Committal will follow, via escorted cortège, in the Garden of Gethsemane at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery in Houston.
Immediately following, all are invited to return to Assumption Catholic Church to greet the family during a reception in the Dolly Hancock Hall.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers during the services are Michael Baumbach, Thomas Hrncir, Sr., Anthony Cuccerre, Thomas Hrncir, Jr., Vincent Cuccerre, Justin Baumbach and Dominic Mallozzi. Serving as honorary pallbearer is Master Sergeant Phillip Cuccerre, Jr.
In lieu of customary remembrances, memorial contributions may be directed in her name to the Assumption Saint Vincent De Paul Society, 901 Roselane St., Houston, TX, 77037.
