Carmela A. Martino, 97, of West Caldwell, N.J., passed away on Monday, Feb. 24, 2020.
Visitation will be on Friday, Feb. 28, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Shook-Farmer Funeral Home, 45 Roseland Ave., Roseland, N.J. Funeral Mass will be at 1 p.m. at St. Aloysius Church, Caldwell, N.J., followed by entombment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, N.J. Memories and condolences may be shared at shookfarmer.com.
Born and raised in Newark, N.J., to Michael and Serafina (nee Meola) Villaggio, she lived in West Caldwell for the majority of her life.
She was a longtime parishioner of St. Aloysius Church and a member of its' Rosary Society and Senior Group. She was also former President of the West Essex UNICO Chapter and an active and lifelong member of the where she assisted with the transportation of cancer patients. Above all, Carmela was a homemaker dedicated to the care and love of her family.
Predeceased by her beloved husband of 41 years, Michael J. Martino, her parents and nine siblings, Salvatore Villaggio, Nicholas Villaggio, Jerry Villaggio, Anthony Villaggio, Rocco Villaggio, Danny Villaggio, Joseph Villaggio, Rose Leone, Mary Longo, she is survived by her caring sister-in-law, Paula Villaggio, loving niece, Laura Coutts (Mark), and a host of nieces and nephews.
