CUELLAR, Hortencia Hortencia Reyna Cuellar, 96 went to be with her Lord on January 14, 2020. She was born on September 6, 1923 in Chicago, IL to Julian (Sr.) and Manuela Reyna. Hortencia was a retired embroidery operator and retail sales associate. In her spare time, she volunteered at Our Lady of Guadalupe Monastery. During the '70s and '80s she was active at Sacred Heart Cathedral Cursillistas and Guadalupanas. She was an Assistant Secretary on ABC Board at the Cottages at Golden Acres, and Eucharistic Minister at St. Augustine in Phoenix, AZ. She loved to Cochet and arrange flowers. She enjoyed spending time at Kahn Community Center with projects that involved making stuff dolls for underprivileged children in hospitals and baking bread for seniors; sketching, drawing, gardening and sewing. Hortencia is preceded in death by her parents, Julian Reyna, Sr., Manuelita Ramirez Reyna; siblings, Sostenez Reyna, Leonor Reyna Sanchez, and Julian Reyna, Jr. She is survived by her loving daughters, Eva Hanson, Gloria Castillo (Lorenzo), and Kathy Cavazos (Alfred); sister-in-law, Emilia Reyna; grandchildren, Sophie (Ismael), Rudy (Jennifer), Mykell (David), Serena, Theresa, John, Freddie (Andrea); great grandchildren, Anthony (Ursula), Andrew, Nathan (Jose), Gavin, Tabitha, Dominic, Savannah; great great grandchildren, Nita, Sebastian, Olivia. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews. Rosary will begin at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, January 19th at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral Mass at St. Pius X Catholic Church 3030 Gus Thomasson Rd. Dallas, 75228 Monday, January 20th at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers the family requests a donation be made in Hortencia's honor to of Greater Dallas or one of your choice.
